Shelter Plan
A shelter plan helps you prepare for a variety of safe locations following a disaster. Whether you shelter inside or outside your home, in a community shelter, or with family and friends, you need to be prepared to shelter for up to two weeks following a disaster.
Netarts Assembly Areas
For wildfires: Netarts Bay boat launch parking lot.
Tsunami and general assembly areas:
Netarts Friends Church (pictured), 4685 Alder Cove Rd. W.
Netarts Oceanside Rural Fire District firehall, 1235 5th St Loop W.
Netarts Community Club located at 4929 Netarts Hwy W.
Emergency Management
Emergency management agencies at the federal, state, and local levels help protect people and places during disasters.
Emergency managers partner with the public to help everyone be prepared. Building prepared communities means knowing what support you may or may not receive from emergency managers and first responders after a disaster and planning accordingly. Know where to go when the official response doesn’t meet all your needs.
Stay Informed
Sign up for emergency alerts: Stay informed by subscribing to alerts at
https://oralert.gov/ for emergency notifications tied to zip code (97143 and 97141) — including earthquake and tsunami alerts. And turn on the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on your phone (Settings, Notifications), so you will receive alerts based on where your phone is located (important if you are visiting the coast).
